Descriptor: Damage
Description: Result of severe hail storm on the night of March 8, 1999. The storm impacted about 46 square miles. In the most severely-impacted areas, all pine foliage and buds were stripped from the trees. The hardwoods had not leafed out and were not impacted as severly. This is photo showing crown damage to young pines in a longleaf plantation. This shot was taken March 24, 1999 performing a survey of the storm area.
